Hot Track Night

image

Our first track evening for 2016 commenced under a blazing Sydney sun with the cars lining up for scrutineering and the drivers beating a hasty retreat to the relative cool of the briefing room nearby.

image

With the briefing room soon full to overflowing drivers had their compulsory briefing, then saddled up their mounts and headed for the track proper.

As usual, the drivers are broken up into two groups and then continue to alternate 20 minute sessions out on Sydney Motorsport park.

A major difference with this event was the ability for drivers to bring along passengers during certain session and it was pretty hard to find a car that wasn’t a dual occupancy during the dedicated passenger sessions.

The star of the day was undoubtedly the new 488 GTB which, thanks to Ferrari Maserati Sydney, was also available to select members to test drive on the track. Many favours are still to be collected from those who managed to wangle a test drive.

The evening continued with sessions into the night under the blaze of full headlights. For those not prepared to make their brakes glow bright red at the end of straight for all to see, there was the fantastic food and coffee to take advantage of, not to mention the fun of sharing the event together with others there driving or just watching. It was great to see so many people turning out to share their passion for the prancing horse.

At the end of the night everyone went home happy and vowing to return again to let the horses run free as the sun sets across Sydney Motorsport Park. Thanks to everyone who made the night such a success. The seamless execution of the event is a testament to all involved.

See you all again at our next track event.

Enzo Ferrari Birthday Party - Terrey Hills

image

Cavallino Restaurant in Terrey Hills was the venue for a fabulous evening on a warm summer night.  Over 50 people attended, many coming in their Ferraris, parking literally at the front door.

We took over the best part of the restaurant, with drinks and dinner in the beautiful outdoor balcony area which was decorated with numerous Ferrari banners and balloons.

Our main celebration was to commemorate the Cavaliere and Commendatore’s birthday, viz. Enzo Ferrari. Born in Modena on 18th February 1898, 118 years ago, our celebration was 1 day later to coincide with the end of the working week.

We also celebrated other birthdays of Club members to make the evening even more special.

The evening was a great excuse for a casual get-together of like-minded Ferrari folk!  Everyone had a great time, talking, eating and several drinks.  It was great to meet some new club members, and to have some very young family members attend too.
