February members night

Our first members night for 2015 was a great success. We met at the Greengate Hotel in Killara for a chat and some dinner. Many members also brought along their cars as the venue has lots of supercar friendly parking.

It is great to see so many passionate Ferrari enthusiasts come together and share their love of their cars and Ferrari. There was much regaling about events on recent drive days and plenty of expectation for all the events the Club has scheduled over the next few weeks. It is going to be a very busy period for the Club with lots of opportunity for members to enjoy themselves with their cars and with other members.

We thank everyone who took the time and came along and we hope to see you at the next members night real soon.

Robertson run

On Monday, 16th February, it was an early 6.30am start on the road for most for a trip to Robertson the long way. A day full of driving, with many interesting and social stops along the way. Weather was a superb 30 degrees. Several meet at Roseville, several at Windsor, and we all converged to have an 8am cooked breakfast at Audley in the Royal National Park (RNP).

Total of 7 cars, old and new: three 458's, a California, 355 Spider, 308 GT4, and for part of the run a Lamborghini Gallardo joined in.

Being a Monday there were virtually no motorcyclists, cyclists, and non Italian sports cars. Once in the country it was a "good run" without too many traffic holdups.

From RNP next stop was the Blow Hole at Kiama. From there we headed to Jambaroo to have a quick drink in the pub. Then it was through the mountain up to Robertson. We had a wonderful lunch at Robertson at the local pub. The locals came and chatted. Then we headed back down the mountain, this time the other track back to Jambaroo. Time for a stop at Jambaroo at the local cake and coffee shop. Now it was time to head home, via Picton Road & Hume Highway for some, and via Princess Hwy for others.

What a wonderful day. Great drive, nice food, and new acquaintances were made.

Restaurant Night

About 30 people attended, a number arriving in their Ferraris who proceeded to the VIP parking at the front door. We started with drinks on the balcony, and then proceeded to our own private glass function room which had been suitably decorated.

Our main celebration was to celebrate the Cavaliere and Commendatore’s birthday, viz. Enzo Ferrari.

He was actually born on 18th February, 1898, or so the story goes, fully 117 years ago, but our celebration was 2 days later because it’s the end of the working week and so a good restaurant night.

However, we also celebrated some additional birthdays with entertaining short speeches provided by the celebrants.

All this was really a great excuse to have a casual get-together of like-minded Ferrari folk! Everyone had a great time, talking, eating and several drinks. It was great to meet some new club members too.

February–Le Montage

We started the day at Le Montage, Lilyfield for the monthly Supercar D’Elegance.

Not only was the car park full of Ferraris but also just about every other supercar you care to name.

After a pleasant morning spent by the water with coffee and breakfast about 50 cars travelling north across the Harbour Bridge to meet at Cowan for anyone else wishing to join.

Once again a spectacular sight that stopped many passers-by. It is not that often you see this many supercars all in one place at one time.

After a brief wait we jumped into our cars and headed to our final destination “The Springs” at Peats Ridge.

Which was then over flowing with all makes and models of supercars.

Everyone then tucked into some great food and great conversation.

An amazing event, which was attended by so many. FCA NSW was proud to help organise and make this event a reality for all the drivers and we look forward to seeing you again next month.
